Shou Sugi Ban Birdhouses
I became fascinated by the Japanese art of Shou Sugi Ban as a means of creating a beautiful finish to my wooden pieces, as well as, a fantastic way to protect the wood from pest and the elements. Living in Florida, and having exposed these boxes to it’s brutal environment for wood for years now, I can speak to it’s amazing effectiveness, even with no annual maintenance.
Shou Sugi Ban Lighted Panels
With three large frosted glass panels from a previous salvage, my interest in Shou Sugi Ban, and the desire for an artistic lighting installation for our home, this was the result of some careful lifting and construction.
